In the event of rollover, total loss, theft or theft of the vehicle, the value of the deductible/excess is doubled. Covers loss or damage of the following accessories: windshield, windows, tires, exterior mirrors, wheel covers, locks and keyholes, antenna, safety kit (fire extinguisher, jack and wheel wrench), wiper blades, windshield wiper arms and radio.
AR+: Roadside Assistance Max
Increases the limit of emergency towing service to CLP 500,000.
SLP++: Supplementary Civil Liability
Coverage that increases third party liability limit from the standard to UF 2,500 (approximately CLP 96,000,000).

All our vehicles are NON-SMOKING. We strongly request our clients to respect this provision as a courtesy to fellow travelers. A fine of CLP 120,000 will be applied for smoking inside the rented vehicle to cover cleaning and deodorizing costs.
All rates are subject to change without prior notice unless previously confirmed in writing (confirmed booking).
The rates agreed upon in each reservation or contract are calculated based on the original rental duration. As a general rule, longer contracts have lower daily rates. Therefore, if the vehicle is returned before the agreed-upon date, two days will be added to the days used as an early return fee, using the daily rate agreed upon in the original contract as a reference. If, after this adjustment, there is a balance in the customer’s favor, that amount will be credited to each customer’s individual account for use in future rentals with United Rent a Car. Otherwise, no credit will be issued. In any case, the total rental value will never exceed the amount originally agreed upon.
Reservations made through third-party channels are not entitled to a refund or credit for early return.
Reservations made by agents from our call center or branches will have a surcharge of 6% additional to the rates published on our website.

The handling, care, installation and removal of optional equipment (e.g. child seat, snow chains) are the express responsibility of the customer.
VEHICLE MAKES AND MODELS
The brands and models indicated are subject to availability at the time of pick-up. The make/models shown are examples only. United is unable to guarantee a specific make/model. Our company reserves the right to make substitutions for vehicles with similar characteristics or of a higher category without prior notice. Certain car groups and models may not be available at all United locations.
Payment is due prior to the start of the rental contract. To facilitate the vehicle pick-up process, the guarantee and rental value could be charged up to 72 hours before the pick-up date.
Credit card or debit card payments are accepted only. For security reasons, cash or check payments are not accepted at any of our branches.
DEBIT CARDS
The debit cards are NOT accepted for guarantee purposes, but they can be used to pay for rental charges.
You can request an invoice by presenting the RUT at our branch. It is possible to make a reservation online and then request that the rental be invoiced when you pick up the vehicle. If no invoice is requested, an electronic receipt will be issued.
Reservations may be canceled free of charge up to 48 hours before the rental start date and time. Cancellations made less than 48 hours and more than 24 hours in advance will result in a charge equivalent to one (1) day’s rental, calculated at the daily rate for the reserved vehicle category. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will result in a charge equivalent to two (2) days’ rental, calculated at the daily rate for the reserved vehicle category. If, after this adjustment, there is a balance in the customer’s favor, said amount will be credited to each customer’s individual account for use in future rentals with United Rent a Car. Otherwise, no credit will be issued. In any case, the total amount charged will never be greater than the amount originally agreed upon.
Reservations taken less than 24 hours in advance cannot be canceled free of charge.

NO-SHOW (CANCELLATION WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE)
Customers who do not show up on the date and time agreed upon in their reservation will be charged the equivalent of three (3) days’ rental, calculated at the daily rate for the reserved vehicle category. If, after this adjustment, there is a balance in the customer’s favor, said amount will be credited to each customer’s individual account for use in future rentals with United Rent a Car. Otherwise, no credit will be issued. In any case, the total amount charged will never exceed the amount originally agreed upon.
As a courtesy, the vehicle will be held up for 1 hour after the agreed pick-up time only if there is no wait list for the reserved vehicle.
RENTAL EXTENSIONS
Changes in return date or time of the rental vehicle must be communicated at least 24 hours in advance. Rental contract extensions must be authorized with a minimum of 72 hours’ notice. During times of high demand, rental contract extension requests may be denied. Rental contract extensions must be communicated directly to the vehicle return branch or through our Call Center or through the virtual assistant on our website.
LATE RETURN
There will be penalties for vehicles returned after the return time or date stipulated in the rental contract. Each hour of delay will be charged at a value of 0.25 times the agreed daily rate up to four hours after the agreed return time. Delays of more than four hours will result in a charge of one (1) day at the rate agreed in the contract. Each additional day of delay over the return date agreed in the contract will have a surcharge of 20% added on the agreed daily rate.
Fuel is not included in the rental price.
United operates with a same level (SL) fuel policy. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at the time of pick-up, the difference will be charged at the average price per liter of those gas stations near the rental branch where the vehicle is returned with a 35% surcharge added to the fuel price per liter as a refueling fee.
If the fuel tank is not full at the start of the rental, return the vehicle with a full tank and we will reward you with a 20% premium on the price for each liter of fuel exceeding the fuel level at pickup. The price per liter will be calculated based on the average price of gas stations near the vehicle return location. The amount calculated for the fuel difference will be credited to each customer’s individual account for use on future rentals with United Rent a Car. The credit amount for this item cannot exceed the amount payable directly to United for the current rental.
There is a charge per day for each additional driver described in the vehicle rental process. There is no limit to the number of additional drivers that can be authorized.
Additional drivers must be at least 23 years of age, present a valid driver’s license and passport or ID. In certain vehicle categories (described above) additional drivers aged 20 to 22 years and with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience (underage driver) are accepted, with an additional charge of CLP 12,900 per day per underage driver. Double guarantee and deductible (excess) of the insurance apply. Drivers under 23 years of age may purchase Assistance coverage only.

Pick-up and Drop-off at Santiago Airport (SCL)
Pickup is possible only during the operating hours of each branch.
Some branches offer a key-drop box service that allows after-hours returns (consult branches with this service here). Your rental contract will be closed at the time you arrive in the parking lot.

Pick up a car at one location and return it to another is convenient with United. It is possible to return your vehicle to any other branch other than your rental branch of origin, with the costs specified in the table below. The values described are expressed in Chilean pesos*:

Travel outside of Chile in our vehicles is suspended. It is not possible to travel to Argentina, Peru or Bolivia in our vehicles.
United Rent a Car will replace the rented vehicle at no additional cost when mechanical failures occur that cannot be attributed to the renter’s misuse or negligence. The replacement shall take place at rental branch of origin and will be of the same or similar category subject to availability.
For the replacement to apply, we require that the driver comply with all the provisions and procedures in case of accidents. If the vehicle is inoperative because of misuse, violation of prohibitions, rental policies or for any of the causes for exclusion of coverage, the contract will be terminated immediately without replacement of the vehicle and all costs and damages resulting from the accident will be charged to the customer.

Tolls for the use of urban highways* (TAG or Televía) are not included in our rates, therefore, all charges for these concepts are for the renter’s account and will be charged in addition to rental fees according to actual usage, plus a 19% service charge.
Our receipt of TAG charges depends on the billing processes of the concessionaire companies. Charges may be made well after the end of the rental contract, due to the delay in the billing of the concessionaire companies.
Important: The day pass is not valid for our vehicles as they all have the TAG device.

Tolls for the use of intercity highways, bridges, roads or tunnels are NOT included in our rates, therefore, all charges for these concepts are for the renter’s account and will be charged in addition to rental fees according to actual usage, plus a 19% service charge.
Our receipt of intercity toll charges depends on the billing processes of the concessionaire companies. Charges may be made well after the end of the rental contract, due to the delay in the billing of the concessionaire companies.
The use of parking facilities is not included in our prices. Charges for parking that are imputed to the rental vehicle’s TAG are for the renter’s account and will be billed separately, plus a 19% service charge.
Our receipt of parking charges depends on the billing processes of the concessionaire companies. Charges may be made well after the end of the rental contract, due to the delay in the billing of the concessionaire companies.
Fines for traffic violations or parking violations that occur during the rental term are the renter’s responsibility. These will be billed in addition to the charges for the rental of the vehicle, plus an administration fee for each fine as follows:
Charges for traffic fines or improper parking depend on judicial notifications. Charges may be made well after the end of the rental contract, due to the delay in our receipt of judicial notifications.
Stains on the tapestries or upholstery, cigarette burns, excessive interior and/or exterior dirt and replacement of license plates will be charged to the renter according to the following table of values (prices include VAT):
The vehicular restriction is a prohibition to circulate that applies to cargo vehicles (trucks, vans and cargo vans) whose license plates end in certain randomly determined digits when an environmental pre-emergency (2 digits) or emergency (4 digits) is declared in Santiago.
This restriction only applies within the area encircled by Americo Vespucio from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This measure is in force from May 1 to August 31 of each year.
Pre-emergency and environmental emergency episodes are force majeure events, which are not foreseeable, and are established by the competent authorities. That is why they must be considered within the traffic rules that drivers must respect, so they are not the responsibility of our company.
Fines issued for violating the vehicle restriction are the responsibility of the renter and will be charged in addition to the charges for the rental of the vehicle, plus an administration surcharge of CLP 20,000 for each fine.
Charges for fines for violating the vehicle restriction can be generated well after the end of the rental contract, due to the delay in receiving the corresponding judicial notifications.
