An international permit is not necessary.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">How old do I have to be to rent a vehicle?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>The minimum age is 23 years. Exceptions may be possible under certain conditions. Only a major credit card is acceptable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">Can I use a credit card that belongs to someone else?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>No, the credit card must belong to the renter, and the renter must be present when the vehicle is picked up.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"padding-top: 1.5em;\">Reservations<\/h3>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">How can I make a reservation?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>You can reserve online in two minutes:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong>: On the main image of each page there is a form with a &#8220;Find My Car&#8221; button. Select the pickup and drop-off locations, dates and times, then click &#8220;Find My Car&#8221;.<br \/>\n<strong>Step 2<\/strong>: A new window will open with a list of available vehicles. Choose your desired vehicle category.<br \/>\n<strong>Step 3<\/strong>: To add optional services click &#8220;Options &#038; Coverages&#8221; and select those you wish to add. Then click &#8220;Reserve This Vehicle&#8221;.<br \/>\n<strong>Step 4<\/strong>: If you are a returning customer, enter your email and last name to retrieve your information. Otherwise, click the New Customer link.<br \/>\n<strong>Step 5<\/strong>: Enter your personal data, credit card, flight info if applicable, and click &#8220;Complete Reservation&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You can also reserve by email, telephone or online chat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">What do Day, Week and Weekend rates mean?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Day<\/strong>: 24 hours from vehicle pickup time.<br \/>\n<strong>Weekend<\/strong>: vehicle pickup on Friday within normal office hours and return the following Monday at the same time. Follow the &#8220;Rent a Car&#8221; signs after collecting your baggage. There is a charge for pickup and\/or drop-off at all airport locations. If you were unable to include that information in your reservation or your plans have changed, please send an email to info@unitedrentacar.cl with your reservation number, airline and flight number.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">Do your rates have any mileage limits?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>No, all our rates include unlimited mileage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">What does unlimited mileage mean?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Unlimited mileage means that your rental rate will be the same regardless of the amount of miles traveled.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">\u00bfWhat is a TAG?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>A TAG is an electronic device that is installed in all our vehicles to permit the charge of tolls and parking fees. To facilitate the pickup process, the rental guarantee and the rental charges will be retained up to 72 hours prior to pickup. Payments for permits for travel to Argentina are due upon request of the service and are non-refundable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">Can I continue to use the vehicle beyond the drop-off date in the rental contract?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>To continue a rental beyond the stipulated drop-off date, an extension must be requested and authorized at least 72 hours in advance. During high season rental extensions may be denied.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"padding-top: 1.5em;\">General Information<\/h3>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">What taxes are levied on car rentals?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>A value added tax (IVA) of 19% is applied to vehicle rentals, charges and fees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">Are foreigners required to pay IVA on car rentals?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Yes, car rental services do not have any tax exemption for foreigners. Tax exemption for foreigners only applies to lodging services (ie. hotels).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">Where are your offices located?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Santiago Airport SCL:<\/strong> you will find our agent at exit door number 5 of the airport terminal building. For details, please see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedrentacar.cl\/en\/rental-policies\/#horario\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Office Hours<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">What is the vehicular restriction all about?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Vehicular restriction is a prohibition applied to cargo vehicles (trucks, pickups and cargo vans) to circulate on certain days of the week based on the last digit of the license plate, determined randomly, when the authorities declare an environmental pre-emergency (2 digits) or emergency (4 digits) in Santiago.<\/p>\n<p>The restriction applies to the area inside the ring encircled by Am\u00e9rico Vespucio from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. As a precaution, we recommend never leaving personal effects inside unattended vehicles, even for a short time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">My credit card covers CDW, so can I decline your insurance?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>Our standard insurance is included in our rates, therefore, it is not necessary to decline it in order to avail of your credit card coverage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pp_accordion_close has_icon\">\n<h3><a href=\"#\">If an accident is caused by a third party and I am not at fault, will I still be responsible for the damage?<\/a><\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>The renter is responsible for damage to the rental vehicle during the term of the rental up to the amount of the deductible, independently of whether or not he was at fault. Our company does not pursue third parties for damages.<\/p>\n<p>To avoid this type of situation, we offer an option, Super Protection Coverage (CSP), which covers 100% of the deductible in case of accident, whether or not the renter was at fault. You may wish to consider this for greater peace of mind.
